**THIS IS AN ADULT CONTENT SEXUALLY THEMED REVIEW**
Summary from GoodReads: In this Information Age, you'd think we know everything about female genitalia. But we don't! Women, their lovers and even medical professionals are missing essential information about how to turn a woman on ... completely.
We're not just talking about Ye Olde G-Spot here. Women have an entire network of structures responsible for arousal and orgasm that not even most doctors know about. (And you know what? The G-spot isn't even a "spot," it turns out!) The result: women must discover their sexual potential without accurate guides. In this groundbreaking book, medical professional and sex educator Sheri Winston presents the first-ever comprehensive, accurate, integrated picture of what's "down there." This fun, sexy guide combines lost knowledge with ancient and modern sexuality information, and illuminates every woman's secret paths to fabulous, orgasmically abundant sex.
Winston's background includes over twenty years as a nurse-midwife, gynecology practitioner and student of the ancient erotic traditions. Over the years, she has developed her own unique approach to sexuality education, called Wholistic SexualityTM, which integrates common and obscure information from modern science, specialized holistic healing know-how and esoteric sexual practices. She is the executive director of the Kingston, NY-based Center for the Intimate Arts.
"Women's Anatomy of Arousal brings our recognition of the depth and subtleties of feminine anatomy out of the fog and into the 21st Century. Should be required reading for every woman (and her partner) with a true desire to take her pleasure to the next level." (Patricia Taylor, PhD., author, Expanded Orgasm)
My Review: First off, I'll go out of my traditional review habits here and say: You HAVE to have this book. I don't care what you think you know about yourself and your body. Or what you think you know about your partner's. Get this book!
In the beginning of this book she tells the story of Shakti and Shiva. If you don't know this, it's worth the effort of finding. She also refers to sex as an "essential life force." I know, I hear a lot of you already -- "NO it's not." I agree with her. Think about it. In your relationship if everyone's happy with the sex they are or aren't getting, things are well. As soon as the ideals differ, no one's happy.
How well do you know yourself? In this book there are actually homework lessons to help you get to know your body and how it works and how to make things even more enjoyable.
For your man? Don't fret. There are even highlighted quick notes for him so that he doesn't even have to read the whole book. All he has to do is catch some of the highlighted parts and the very last chapter.
There is one trick to making your partner happy that she teaches you a way to make yourself just as happy in doing so. WOW!
I say, read this book together. Throw your shyness to the wind and get to know yourself and help your partner do so as well.
No, not every detail will be for you, but don't you owe it to yourself to break those taboo barriers and try everything. You may find you truly enjoy a few things that you would have never thought you would. This book also makes you see that it's totally alright to do so too.
Thank you Sheri Winston for a very wonderful book. {{Side note: I'm going to see if I can get Sheri here for an interview and/or guest post with us}}.
