My Review: Alright, so thanks to the popularity of Bones, it seems the name Temperance is suddenly becoming popular in a lot of books and shows.
This is book one in this series: Maiden Lane. The first few hundred pages, we are pretty much told a story. Then WHAM! We get nailed with some incredibly steamy scenes.
The main female is Temperance, of course and Lazarus is our somewhat dark hero.
She, widowed, and her brother care for 28 children. Finances are tight, to say the least. Lazarus gives her a deal that she accepts since there are little other options. Then we have our "house mother" solving a murder with Lazarus. So, who's gutting the prostitutes of St. Giles?
The disappointing parts in this book were that we never really know why Lazarus dislikes his family so much and we also never know why a touch is painful to him.
The beginning of the book seemed to move a little slow for me, but then it picked up as it went.

A skin condition? I think that would bother me. Steamy sex is great, but with how strange the rest of the book sounds, I'm not sure on it.
