Book Review: The Adventures of the Thundering Whales

Summary from GoodReads:
The Weaved Catcher is the first book in Stephen Vadakin's series "The Adventures of the Thundering Whales." The books follow the exciting adventures of the three young dolphin friends Thunder, Flukie and Sapphire. In The Weaved Catcher, Thunder becomes caught in a fishing net and falls far, far down into the ocean depths. How can he ever escape? What happens when his friends rush to rescue him? When you read the answers to these questions in the book, you will meet some massive and amazing sea creatures. Blue whales, humpback whales, a giant squid and the Swordfish Police Patrol are all part of the fun and adventures!

My Review: This book was well written and full of useful information. This is an entertaining story that has characters that come to life. It's also teaches in a way that will not have children thinking they're learning.

My 11 and 12 year olds read this and loved it. My 9 year old opted to read it with my 6 year old and myself. Due to my 6 year old and his ADHD/ODD we did two chapters at a time. They both enjoyed the little *lesson* at the end of the chapters -- so much so that they didn't even realize they were learning.

The Adventures of the Thundering Whales in a great adventure of the sea that shows what can be accomplished with team work. And, of course, there is a happy ending.

This is another recommended addition to your children's library. On a side note, this is one book I'd love to see as a movie or television show. Although, I think a TV show may ruin it in keeping with the fun and accuracy. So, we need a movie. I think this is a book for any age, however, to read alone, I am placing it in 10 and up. But parents, this is a great book to sit down and read with your kids. You'll have fun too.

{{Psst, if you're a teacher, this is a great classroom addition too}}
