My Review: I love history and Native American history seems to be one of my weaknesses. So, when a friend offered to lend this to me, I had to snag it up to read. After reading, I have mixed emotions about the book.

Sarah has struggled her entire life for one reason or another, the main on being her parents not loving her. Her situation and inner turmoil was made believable by the author. Her hero, changing between the names of Dirk and Two Shadows, prefers life as a member of the Blackfeet tribe.

About half the book they aren't even together, but the story is OK. While not always flowing smoothly and not always historically accurate (even a mention of a date was in the wrong century). The parts where they are together, she saves him something like three times. While I do like a strong, not whiny female character, I definitely do not like them saving their men, especially several times.

The beginning moved slowly and the ending seemed rush. However, in the end, it wasn't a terrible read if I exclude my own history knowledge and the multiple saves by the woman.
