Book Review: Yalu and the Puppy Room

Summary:
A six week old Golden Retriever tires to find a forever home. She must learn to rise above her initial failure and remarket herself.

My Review: As a HUGE dog person, I loved that he dedicated the book {with a picture} to *a little brown dog he knows.* A perfect way to start this book.

This is a heartfelt story from one puppy's perspective of watching other puppies go to meet adopting families and the sorrow she would feel when she wasn't chosen, wasn't the right sex, or simply didn't even get the chance to meet the family. Yalu wanted a family of her home and someone to love that would love her back.

This book also shows that being picked last doesn't mean that you aren't one of the best. It just means that you may not have found your perfect fit yet. In this case, it was a family that would love her the way she wanted to be and the way she should be.

Yes, we found parts of the book sad, but the happy ending was wonderful. My 6 year old made me read it twice. There's also some really cute illustrations. This is a very welcomed addition to my children's library and I think it would be in yours too.
